How this started.
In 2006 I noticed something curious. Many notable people named Alastair seemed to gravitate toward creativity, communication, education, technology, leadership, and innovation.
Was it coincidence? Probably.
But the pattern kept repeating. So I started documenting it.
Nearly twenty years later, the archive continues to grow. This project exists to preserve those stories while exploring one wonderfully specific question:
What happens when you follow one uncommon name across the world for decades?
The site makes no claims. It simply invites you to notice the patterns — and to decide for yourself whether they mean anything at all.
Standards of inclusion.
The archive is carefully curated. Every documented person meets the following criteria before appearing here.
- Spelled exactly A-L-A-S-T-A-I-R. No exceptions, no exceptions to the exceptions.
- An independently verifiable public presence.
- Enough publicly available material to build a meaningful profile.
- A quiet review by the curator before publication.
Self-submissions are welcome — but every submission is reviewed before it appears in the archive.
